The scene of a girl with long, blonde hair and a boy with short, dark hair sitting on a grassy hill with a tree and waiting for the sunrise seems to be common in anime.

Colette Brunel, Llyod Irving, before sunrise from Tales of Symphonia
Wilhelm Schultz, Allison Whittington at sunrise from Allison & Lillia
Pacifica Casull, Shannon Casull at sunrise from Scrapped Princess

Of course, I haven’t seen that many shows so it might just be a coincidence.

KITCHEN, Merry C ristmas from Yumeiro Pâtissière

The inclusion of KITCHEN is curiously appropriate. It’s as if the creators of Yumeiro Pâtissière knew I would be watching this particular episode today. Truly a C ristmas miracle!

Speaking of miracles, I happened to notice the following:

Yousuke, Mariko from Yumeiro Pâtissière Yousuke, Mariko (2) from Yumeiro Pâtissière Yousuke, Mariko (3) from Yumeiro Pâtissière Yousuke, Mariko (4) from Yumeiro Pâtissière

Within a day or two, either Mariko grew, or Yousuke shrank! Maybe both!

Sweets spirits flitting about is one thing, but a “miracle” like this tends to strain my suspension of disbelief.

I finally managed to post most of the major content from my old site. Some of the links are still pointing to the old site, but I’ll work on that later. I’d rather get working on some of the stuff I had saved up over the years; it’s relatively old now, but oh well. I tended to get caught up in minutiae in lieu of putting up anything new. It reminds me of the saying, “The perfect is the enemy of the good.”

I’m going to try turning on comments again, but you have to register. Hopefully, this will keep the spam bots at bay.

To get the ball rolling, I noticed that when characters are being boastful, their noses tend to get long and pointy.

Fuwa Sho with a long, pointy nose from Skip Beat  Nagi with a long, pointy nose from Kannagi  Akagi Shigeru from Akagi

This is an interesting contrast to Pinocchio where the nose tends to only do this when one is lying. I included Akagi since he epitomizes being boastful, but his long, pointy nose is probably just a coincidence in this case.

The 6th anniversary of Kitchen Discotheque arrived while I was immersed in vacationing. I haven’t been doing anything particularly exciting lately - just reading some books and watching various animes. I started to write a little about my Otakon experience, but I didn’t really prepare anything for the anniversary. Hopefully, some new posts will make up for my lack of updates.

It’s been a while since I’ve updated, but I haven’t forgotten about this site, even though many of my previous readers think otherwise. A lot of things have happened since the last update, and I happen to have a relatively long vacation, so it’s a prime time to do some more work here.

The other day, I got an email from AzureDark, an administrator at animelyrics.com, and he wanted my permission to create a subdomain (http://spatula.animelyrics.com/) there with the lyrics that I contributed. It was really nice of him to ask, and it seems like things are going well over there.

I’m tempted to work on some more lyrics, but I need to finish updating this place and then adding more content.

Most have probably already given up on me as either lost or dead. I am here to assure the few true believers that I am still amongst the internets. I still need to overhaul the website and probably fix the forums, but that will come in time. I owe my handful of viewers at least a little something though.

Recently, I was at the Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. Never one to miss up such a prime opportunity, I coerced my girlfriend, Amber, and Gregg to help me recreate a classic scene from Midnight Madness by going to Room 2704.

Gregg, Amber, and Tony Visiting Room 2704

The layout isn’t like in the movie, and I forgot to buy yellow shirts for everyone, but overall it was fun to make a spoof of it.

No, I don’t ever wonder why people think I’m weird…
