It was interesting to see the normally aloof Kanabara get mad.

I usually call my shop Needful Things when vending in Ragnarok Online. The other day when I set up shop, someone commented on the name.

I’m sure other people have recognized it, but no one actually commented on it before. It was pretty cool.

I guess biting people’s ears is a typical sign of affection in Japan. A similar behavior was observed in an earlier post.
I was watching Saki again, and a scene from it reminded me of one from Mayoi Neko Overrun!

Apparently, the best way to deal with little girls from rich families with ribbons in their hair who are acting up is to pet them on the head. Another thing to keep in mind when visiting Japan.
Rewatching anime can yield subtle cultural secrets that are overlooked on the first viewing.
I ran across a curious series of posts about Monsieur LaMoe‘s life with Moe over at Anime Diet - Prelude, Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
Right from the start, it is clear that there is something surreal going on here:
My moetic life. Kiss x Sis is definitely a moetica. Or moerotica. I am a moet, writing a moem. Moetry. Moefy everything I can see, hear, smell, taste, touch, and think. Moefication. Moetalica. Moetalia. Moetan. Moeticism. Moe, moe, kyun!
It’s an interesting read, but rather lengthy. so you might want to take it a little at a time.

Mayoi Neko Overrun! seems like the typical harem fanservice anime, but it has enough amusing and random moments for me that I enjoy watching it. The ping pong scene from Episode 4 was pretty amazing (I was inspired to make the animated gif above), but the Saki spoof in Episode 8 was superior since the whole episode was good. It was probably due to the fact that they got the actual director of Saki, Manabu Ono, to work on that episode. I was also amused to see Chise use her phone, in Episode 10, to take a pic of a cake that Nozomi made to determine the word on it.

Sometimes it’s useful to watch something random.
I was enjoying Katanagatari recently so I thought I’d make another animated gif.

Lest anyone think I haven’t been doing anything useful lately, I managed to win a copy of Iwao Junko’s Meguriai CD with her autograph in a contest over at Studio Neko-Han-Ten – check out the 3 May 10 and 7 Jun 10 entries on the butsu butsu butsu butsu… page.
Hopefully, there won’t be any “mail troubles,” as nonchan put it…
